The Rock in the heart of Australia

Visiting Australia was my childhood dream, especially the endless Outback region in central Australia due to the mysterious and fascinating culture of the indigenous people who used to live there for thousands of years. The Aboriginal people have developed some awe aspiring skills to overcome the harsh obstacles of their surroundings. For instance, cutting potatoes into halves and plant them back to the soil so they would grow again. Hunting limitations for specific regions and time. Natural medicines which sanitizer infections, wounds or illnesses. Uluru or Ayres Rock (the European name of Uluru) was the heart of the indigenous culture. It is a sacred place where the indigenous people used to conduct ceremonies, and it is still a significant part of the indigenous culture nowadays. As tourists, we must respect the indigenous peoples' feelings by respecting the signs which tell us where we can not take pictures, by NOT climbing the rock and by absorbing as much as you can from this breath taking place.

Indigenous painting is commonly seen through the rock's gaps and caves.

Me and the rock. =]

The Rock is made of sandstone and reachs to the incredible hight of 348 km above the ground.
